So now Denver has a pile of "slacking/underperforming" first round talent on our DL with the aquisition of Derrick Harvey DE 2008 first round draft choice of the Jags, and frankly about as producttive as Robert Ayers has already been...(reads notes)... and now a 306lb 2006 first round draft pick out of FSU Brodrick Bunkley from Philly. Seems like he's a run stopper/gap filler rather than a true QB killer. which just so happends to be just what we need with the likes of Doom, Ayers, Miller, Haggan, Harvey and Williams all set as pass rushers (with Miller and Williams doing so from the OLB position). And theres a chance they could still land Jamaal Anderson or Ty Warren, who both consequently have been drafted in the first round as well. Other "smart" work was signing both Bunkley and Harvey to league minimum 1 year deals. so if they bomb meh, whatever, and if they perform well we'll get first crack at signing them for longer. hopefully a DL with 2 above average DE's and 2 Midrange rotational De's will have the legs to preassure the QB's for 4 full quarters rather than last years 2.5-3 quarter average.
Seattle signs former Raider Pro Bowl TE Zach Miller to 5yr, $34M ($17M guaranteed). Excellent signing, hands down the best pass catching TE available in this years FA.
Well, that will just about do it for all the big name FA signings in the league. On a NFC South Divisional side note, the Saints and Buccaneers will now be going toe to toe in that division for title of best Dline for the next few years. I wouldn't put it past the Panthers to peak in a little on this as they are building a decent Dline as well. Saints: Cameron Jordan, R, DE Greg Romeus, R, DE Turk McBride, 5YR, DE Dexter Larimore, R, DT Sedrick Ellis, 4YR, DT Aubrayo Franklin, 9YR, NT Alex Brown, 10YR, DE Saun Rogers, 11YR, DT Bucs: Adrian Calyborn, R, DE Da'Quan Bowers, R, DE Gerald McCoy, 1YR, DT Brian Price, 1YR, NT Roy Miller, 1YR, DT Al Woods, 2YR, DT Kyle Moore, 3YR, DE Michael Bennet, 3YR, DE The NFC South is still the division of the Quarterback though, Drew Brees, Josh Freeman, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton.
Yeah you guy have no one else at TE, but they did put together a pretty good draft considering they didn't have a 1st rounder. Watch out for DeMarcus Van Dyke. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=72230&draftyear=2011&genpos= Jacoby Ford proved he can be more than just a return man for them too
2 DT's in 2 days, assuming Bunkley shows up for our trade for him, sucks to be a Browns fan. Oh wait! It's about time denver got some run support in the center of our line Ty Warren, Brodrick Bunkley, Vickerson, and Thomas all in as rotational set of DT's. I'm pertty happy with that especially since only Vickerson really cost anything cap wise. and Warrena nd bunkley are reportedly signed just like Harvey on 1 year leage minimum deals low risk high reward chances here and showing we're still looking at young talent. Now to trade Orton and hope the other 11 of our DB's can show up and prove they can hang with B-Dawk, Goodman and Bailey.
And along with Ronnie Brown its reported RT Ryan Harris formerly a Bronco and a rather capable Tackle just signed with Philly. Yikes they have a run game, a solid D, now to just sign Jackson to a good contract to make him happy (beside he diserves is) and i got Philly going 5-1 in their division and possibly headed back to the NFC championship game.
Yea Brown, Harris and someone else signed with Philly. Philly is making some good signings, they are poising themselves for a Championship run, probably not this year but next year if they retain most of these 1yr deal players they could be yeah. The thing about the Eagles is that they aren't a Miami Heat like how a lot of people are comparing them, they are still the Eagles, they are like any other team in football that puts together a really good freeagency. They are signing some good players but for the most part they ARE signing back ups. Jason Babin, played for 6 different teams before getting to 1 pro bowl with Tenn last season and 1 of the 6 WAS the Eagles. Brown is good, solid infact but injury prone and basically will be a back up to McCoy and will be in on some gimicks. Cullen Jenkins wasn't even around most of last year for the Packers since he was injured, just like in '08 and parts of '07. Asomugha is hands down the best Defensive Back in football... He's just not a playmaker... He's no Deion or Woodson, BUT he is very well versed in the techniques of football and he is 100% 100% of the time. Vince Young could be a pretty good QB if given the right coaching, but still a backup now. Jarrad Page will be a legit starter for them, okay. Rodgers-Cromartie is good but he's not better than Assante Samuel, no way, he's just younger and cheaper at the moment and Johnny Lee Higgins... lol idk he's fast I guess. Good pickups no doubt and alot of them, but they are just solid depth, which will be consistent... It could be good but I don't know if they could actually win a SuperBowl. Everything still comes down to Vick's play and maturity this year. I will definitely be pulling for him.
