He's also going to come over once he takes delivery and help me setup everything with our network. Total spent: $379 (plus lunch/beer sometime next weekend)
That's what'll put you over budget lol Let me know how those speakers are, I want to get a decent set for under $50
yeah probably LMAO will do i had all day yesterday to pour over relatively cheap but good sounding speaker system reviews and this one by far had the best reviews, and given the sale on it on amazon i couldn't pass it up. For now since i did a shitload of reading yesterday decided which ones i wanted heres a list of the ones i was mainly looking at and considering #1. the set i bought (although it looks like they went up $5 since noon yesterday): $37 http://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Acousti...T6V4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1302196032&sr=8-1 #2. First of 2 $60 set's but its a $60 5.1 system with only great/good reviews! There are three 3 star reviews but ones do to a bad set and the other 2 bought it thinking it was usable as a full out home theater surround sound system and therefore were dissapointed, so i didn't count those in the least. I would have bought this if i had the extra $30 in my budget personally, but since i got the top kit for $32 i just couldnt see getting a 5.1 system for twice the price when i already went over on the computer itself, and it'll get moved from near our TV to on our desk computer once we buy a full samsung surround sound system in the future . It also comes ready to be hooked up to your ipod relatively easily. IMO if the set i ordered sounds good i would recommend you get this set if you have the room on your desk for all 5 speakers cause its by the same people using similar components and it's only $10 over your $50 limit. http://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Acousti...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1302197096&sr=1-16 #3. the second place set for under $40 (mostly Jen and I thought they looked like they could be cool and the fact that there isn't a single review below 3 stars is pretty impressive). Only downside i noticed was the sib is slightly smaller, yet more powerful than the set i bought, and the 2 satelite speakers only have one speaker each where the Cyber Acoustic set has a tweeter and 2 midrange speakers in each of it's satelite's. So i figured the sound might not be as well rounded, but it's still got some glowing reviews.... and it GLOWS lol: $40 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ALYGI2/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_4?ie=UTF8&m=A2QHBM8MEN9W65 #4. There $60, but i'm willing to bet the sound is a little better than either of the two 2.1 systems above it, the real question i ask was how much, and i'm willing to bet not twice as good . Also it does have the ability to plug more than just your computer into them easily, but that aspect i didn't need. Most of the 1 star reviews were on broken units rather than sound quality, and it's Logitech so can't really go wrong: $60 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002FU5QM0/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER #5. My top under $30 selection. Only 2 honest "bad" reviews and one seemed like they expected them to be more than what they are. computer speakers, but most of the 20+ 5 star reviews said they hang right there with the $50-$60 Logitech and other 2.1 computer speakers. Some said the bass was too loud others said the bass wasnt there typical bs IMO. the two satelite speakers look kinda funky, but otherwise not shabby for $30 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003FWHTTA/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I'm digging this setup, i'm ordering Tron on bluray as I type this, so I might add this to the order. http://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Acousti...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1302197096&sr=1-16
Are you actually going to use the 5.1? I have an older set from Logitech (X530) and haven't had my rear/center speakers hooked up in years. Most of my gaming is done with headphones on and all of my movie watching is done on the TV so surround is irrelevant. Make sure you're actually going to use the 5.1 before spending extra for it.
if your gunna go with the Logitechs over the 5.1 cyber acoustics, just get the $37 cyber acoustics since its got the same power to the speakers as the logitechs and a slightly larger subwoofer and its got the input to hook up your mp3 player as well, just saw that. JMHO See, now i could benefit from the 5.1 given where i'm going to be having them, in the livingroom. but yeah if you dont hook them up theres no reason for them. I have a feeling B00st is going to be playing it in his office which could definately benefit from the 5.1 IMHO. BTW, if you are thinking of getting the set i just ordered over the logitecs or the 5.1 hold off a bit. I'm starting to have serious second thoughts in not springing for the 5.1 Cyber Acoustics and if Jen agrees on the $15 from her part, i plan on asking her tonight. I'll sell you my set after we know they work and if they sound good and everything for $30
this is what made me decide to just go ahead and get the Cyber Acoustic 5.1 system lastnight. now to just tell Jen
Theres also a shit load of reviews for the 3602. Both seem like win for the money. I'm liking the fact that the sub puts out good/clear bass according to the reviewers. the 3602's are supposed to be here tommorow and the 5402's are scheduled to be here on monday.
just setup the 3602's to see how they sound. Pure win for $32 bucks! Heck even if i paid $40 i'd be hella happy. they look sweet and sound awesome!!!
Sooooo, lets say i might have just broken our laptop.... are there any current good deals like raged's lenovo? i'm really looking for the best bang for <$500 :/ le sigh, but at least the dell and everything is working awesome. gotta keep its resolution at 1600*900 in order to see everything but thats just cause i'm blind heres a crappy cell phone pic of our current entertainment center n such. it looked cleaner when i first hooked everything up but i'm currently fighting the wireless keyboard and mouse right now and have been pulling it off the wall and such lately... better pic once everything is finalized. also sent back the CA 5402's as the headphone audio jack for the Sammy LED isn't an actual headphone jack like their LCD TV's are/were. Its just a direct audio out so threes no controlling the speakers volume with the TV's/DVR's remote. A bit of an annoyance since i was going to rout all the sound through the computer speakers, but as of now its just the computer and ps3 for movie playing and music. Its little control box does come in real handy though and makes the speakers at least usable
