This guy is about to get one, hopefully this week as a part of my upgrade from my current LG Chocolate Touch (which is an utter failure to a phone, and the only ones who would really want this trash is a pre-pubescent girl...unless she was rich, then it'd be her first phone, a ridiculously nice phone for a pre-pub girl H*). Anyway, I'm posting this in hope you guys can give me advice, tips, tricks, anything that I should have on this phone. Thanks guys
Its an ipod touch that can make phone calls, that's pretty much about it. Get a car charger and additional charger for your office because youll be using the battery all up between calls, texts, music, interwebs, apps, vid chat, etc. Also watch out for auto correct in texts lol I have the tmobil my touch, thing is badass and similar to the iphone.
Android > iOS Make sure you check out the Moto Atrix and HTC Inspire (if you're set on AT&T) before you go for an iPhone. The iPhone 4 isn't a 4G device, if that matters to you.
I like mine However, I have the 3gs. I refuse to get the 4, or even the software update because the new software you basically have to agree to have your location monitored at all times.
meh i got the 4. Its basically just a faster verson of the 3gs (i have had both). Im actually waiting to see if/what they will come out with for the next one. I have an upgrade avalible in may, and then another one in november, soo i dunno if ill upgrade to a new iphone or not if they come out with one.
Wait another 3 weeks for the Droid Bionic to be released...you'll be MUCH happier with that than with an Iphone. Dual Core 4G Droid > Single Core 3G Iphone
I can't believe the 4 is not 4G, WTF?! I am not on AT&T, I am on Verizon. I only want an iPhone, because I've wanted one since they came out. lol Droid Bionic eh? I'll look in to that phone. But, I might end up getting the iPhone, because it's free for me. lol
In that case check out the HTC Thunderbolt. Only 4g phone Verizon has right now. I don't really have anything against the iPhone. I just prefer Android. Plus, Apple releases one model every year or so and companies like HTC and Samsung release dozens every year. Naturally, features evolve faster when you release models faster.
Bionic > Iphone, I'm willing to bet large sums of money on that. Thunderbolt battery life sucks I've heard, it's slow, and is only a single core...IE obsolete in less than 30 days. At least the Bionic should be state of the art for 2 months
Dual core phones are a waste right now. Nothing actually takes advantage of the extra processing power. The 1ghz Snapdragon is plenty fast to run Android smoothly (not sure what Verizon has done to the Thunderbolt, but my EVO is nearly identical and runs awesome). Dual core will benefit tablets much more than phones because of their larger resolution. Phones would be better off with a single core chip and a separate dedicated 3D chip for gaming. Apple's WWDC event is June 6-10th, but rumors out now are that the iPhone 5 will not be present. If it's true, no new iPhone until the fall. http://www.loopinsight.com/2011/03/28/no-iphone-ipad-or-mac-hardware-coming-at-wwdc/
I'm banking on the fact that since you would have the phone for ~20 months before upgrading again, in that time frame something should come out software wise that would utilize the benefits of a dual core processor.
Welp, looks like I am going to be getting an iPhone 4 fellas. I really appreciate the opinions and advice from everyone. But, I'm only getting this phone, because #1, I am in need of an upgrade from my POS LG Chocolate Touch and #2, it is only going to cost me $140.
