What's sad is 100 years from now, some kid is going to do a history report on this time period of American history. And they will find that the highest paid jobs are in athletics and entertainment. Not teachers, not cops, not firefighters, not utility workers, not military, but football, baseball, basketball, and actors.
And then our stupid RB Adrian likens the NFL to slavery...I sure wish I could be a slave making $10Mil a year.
I just dont get it. The owners run a business, the players are SOME of the employees of said business. They get a salary (contract) to perform their duties, they get medical coverage while at work, and there is even some form of pension plan (of sorts). Yet these same employees want further medical coverage after they leave their place of work . How about you agree to work for whatever monetary compensation you agreed to work for and honor that shit? And that goes for every little shit who thinks they deserve an extra couple million $$$ because you did your job for 1 "season", but if you utterly fail you wont even hear about taking a paycut. There should be 0 collective barganing IMO. the NFL makes X number of dollars and takes all of the GROSS profit and can divy up the money however they like between their 32 different chairboard members. The players, being employees all work for what they individually negotiated to work for. If they did it that way the salary cap would possably go up and the league minimum would have the ability to go up as well. Besides even the lowest guy makes $300,000+ a season. You tellin me you can't save even half of that? after taxes and shit?
I didn't know this. Players are free to play in other leagues if they choose since the CBA expired and there is a lockout. The UFL and CFL will be places to turn to. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...e-first-of-many-to-jump-leagues?urn=nfl-wp292
Just read that. Wouldn't happen but it'd be sweet as hell if the UFL got in touch with the right players and brought even 20% of the bigger ticket names over who seriously just want to play the game and get a decent check for it and put a nice kink in the NFL's next couple of years.
I like his premise, but thanks to a slow BORING shitty day at work i found his acuracy and rational... well... that guy CLEARLY knows nothing about the AFC.... Panthers: Already took an over-hyped QB last year, and although they couldn't score last year give the new guys a chance. they could use some seriouse help on D, and who better than the ultimate defener, Batman? Bills: Kobe as a D specialist when they NEED offense? They look to draft Jim Kelly Bill's QB of the 80's n 90's Titans: already have one beat up old hasben at QB why draft a new one? but they DO need help at that position, and who better to serve up delicious passes over the middle but the 50's King Elvis Presley? He's got the moves to shake defenders and you can sign him for a few penut butter and banana sandwhiches. Texans: They'll trade back for the Bears' late first and second round picks. and Aunt Esther over Ma from mama's family for an OLB, never! Lions: Eminem for DB... short, white guy? Simba, or hell even Nala would have been a much wiser choice to roam the secondary for them IMO Dolphins: Al Bundy will be off the board when his hometown team trades up for the texans pick to grab a great blocking and bulldozing RB for help out Cutler. Besides everyone knows its WR Sonny Crockett they're after Patriots: Beiber??? does he soon forget spygate? Its British FS James Bond all day with this selection Chargers: I could see them taking Taz, but i feel they need deep threat WR's help if jackson doesnt come back, so maybe The Roadrunner, or speedy gonzales Chiefs: you don't "draft" coaches. Although i do see them signing him as their new OC. Instead look for KC to take SS Geronimo from the Apache Nation Colts: They'll resign peyton this offseason so no need for them to draft their own player. They need O-line help so they'd probably want a good bnlocker/protector like Bumblebee from Transformers. Patriots (2nd pick): Their uni's are just fine, but what they need is a womens touch ON the field, not off it. Tthey take the second "little Giant" of the first round by selecting Becky "Ice Box" O'Shea ATH. Steelers: You don't draft BACKUP's in the first round, Denver. And the Steelers know this. They sure up their Secondary, AND their RB game by taking the Man of Steel himself SUPERMAN! But I like his projections for Browns, Broncos, Bengals, Ravens and Jags tho
Ya know i think you're right i thought it was one or the other cause i remembered his one big play was a screen pass he ran in from 95 yards out so i thought it might have been RB.
