This is a mix of hope/think. A lot after #3 is due to my suprise pick of mallett to bills and gabbert still sitting there for the cardinals. Besides i like putting absurd amounts of QB's in teh first round:slow:

  3. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

Green Bay takes another NT even after how well Raji has been playing? Intriguing.
  4. FreeBird Selbstmord ist Schmerzfre

it's a theory. I think they wouldn't mind a stable of great NT's given how injurys hit their front 7 hard last year.
  5. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

Front 7 as in mostly their LBs. Not their tackles. A 34 DE maybe yeah okay.
  6. FreeBird Selbstmord ist Schmerzfre

DE/DT or DE/OLB are also on the table given their olny real downside on that side of the ball was rushing Defense. I think in my mock Taylor is the best down lineman available at the end of the first (unless i missed someone) and as it stands Raji doesn't have a real NT backup in GB, and whats better than 1 awesome young NT?

thats right 2!!!! :slow: If i thought there was a DE/DT in the same class as Taylor i'd put him in this slot of the Packers taking him, but the guy backing Raji up is 32 years old, and he's a 4-3 DT convert. IMO the nose tackle is a good position to rotate guys in and out on a regular basis throughout a game. It's keeps the unit healthy and save their energy for the whole game. It's probably not going to happen but if i was the packers and he's sitting there at #32 (highly unlikely) then i'd pull the trigger on him. Run my D-line the way the Ravens do with Gregg, Mount Cody and McKinnley. Its how they keep the preassure on all game long and wear out the O-Line, constantly switching out their down 3 all game long. The packers don't have the personel to give Raji a breather and still be able to stuff the run on a regular basis IMO.
  7. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

a 1st round pick though on a backup, to your already young all star dt? 3rd round maybe , 4th round definitely, but a 1st? No way Jose. They gotta go offense all the way, WR or RB, or a ILB to sit next to AJ Hawk.
  8. FreeBird Selbstmord ist Schmerzfre

    T*

Better front offices have reached for less. He's versed at all three of the 3-4 down lineman positions while playing at both Penn State and Baylor, and he's arguably the second best 3-4 DT in this years draft. Even though it seems no one sees him sliding past the likes of the Chiefs, Jets, or Steelers; who have all worked him out within the past week and could use him as a starter next season. If he is still there after 31 picks have been called I'd put $20 the Pack select him over Baldwin, the 3rd to 5th best WR in the draft. Unless Driver leaves, which yes could happen, they don't need a WR in the first round, not with their dismal rushing offense and Defense, and certianly not after finishing in the top 5 in passing last year and top 7 in 2009. Any WR they choose in the draft will be at best their #4 guy. So maybe the 3rd or one of their 4th round selections IMO.

Why go after a #4 reciever in the 1st when you NEED interior presence against the run, be it a ILB or a down lineman, and an offensive running game, be in a OL or RB?

Sadly, i think there will be a run on O-linemen this year, and there isn't a RB worthy of the first round other than Ingram IMO and currently Jackson isn't half bad he just needs some room/blockers. So that leaves either the 3rd-5th best G available, none first round quality, given they have no deapth on their interior O-Line and it was one of the major issues in the running game last year, the 2nd-4th best ILB in Martez Wilson, or the absolute 2nd best 3-4 D-Lineman on the board.

Taylor is a better fit here than any available skill position player given their current personnel and needs based off performance last year. Besides it's not like they took Raji last year.

Personally I'd take Taylor if he somehow slides past the top 3 suitors and start work on him as one of my DE's since both of the packers starting DE's are over 30 and are both built very similar to Taylor. they could help him along quite easily. And who knows you could have Raji and Taylor out there together. Doesn't look like he'll be available come the 32nd pick, and they haven't worked him out, so its definately a long shot, but i like that pick better than Baldwin.

. I heart insomnia. Green bay could really use interior LB help, and some added blocking and ground N pound help in the Running game. They also have 3 picks straddling the 4th round 96, 129, 131 overall.

How about Owen Marecic with one of those 4th round picks Mr. McCarthy? Get him in training camp and see where he fits best. Be it ILB or FB.... That is if the 49ers don't reach/go for him with one of their two early 4th round picks as well with either 108 or 115 overall. 9ers do have 12 picks in this years draft so using one on a former workhorse/productive two way college kid is entirely feesable . you know given both of their RB's were injured at the end of the year and thier listed FB was a converted RB... :naughty:

SON OF A B!!!!! i had i nice Bronco's analysis of what i hoped we would do with our draft with full rational/analysis behind the picks then i closed the damn firefox tab on accident! GRRRRR!

Anyway, along with the first round Mocks, how about a hope/mock of what your favorite team does with its draft picks this year. Mines sans rational cause i don't feel like going back through all that detail at 5:30 on a sat morning. :emo:

    Broncos
Rd 1, Pick 2 (2): Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
Rd 2, Pick 4 (36): Martez Wilson, ILB, Illinois
Rd 2, Pick 14 (46): Muhammed Wilkerson, DT/DE, Temple Or Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina
Rd 3, Pick 3 (67): Luke Stocker, TE, Tenn.
Rd 6, Pick 21 (186): Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh
Rd 6, Pick 24 (189): Cortez Allen, CB, The Citadel
Rd 7, Pick 44 (247): Dontavia Bogan, WR, USF Or DeMarco Sampson, WR, San Diego State
  10. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

3rd is super early for Stocker, but then realized you don't have a 4th or 5th rounder so...

And imo, if you take Dareus in the 1st, then with your second 2nd round pick you should snag a CB like Ras I Dowling or Brandon Harris. You've just added to all 3 levels of your D significantly. Even Allen Bailey in the 2nd with pick 1 and then Quan Sturdivant with pick 2 would be a beast front.
  11. FreeBird Selbstmord ist Schmerzfre

yeah i was working with what i had for Stocker, and i didn't want to speculate any trade crap cause that stuffs all over the place. Its a full round and a half reach by most peoples accounts, but we need a pass catching TE, and a TE just in general with our recent cuts so unless we tard players for picks or tade back this is our only shot at him.

I could see them going CB with one of the picks in the 2nd, but i just dont want one there. I know its a new head coach but we still have the same shitty GM who drafted 7 DB's in the past 3 years and only 2 of them have panned out (both safteys), and both of THEM finished the season injured, so you could say I'm skiddish about drafting DB's right now. I'd rather sure up the inside of our D with a stong line and a good Mike LB with our 3 early round picks since we're going back to 4-3 D. We just released our 2 main DT's last year due to age and sucking in the 3-4 set, and theres solid rumors they want to get rid of D.J williams as they think his trade stock is up, and has had off field issues as of late. I also liked what i saw with the Bucs young D-line this past year.

As for Bailey, if they do go with a player who's more of a DE than DT with the 36th overall I'd rather them take Justin Houston since i personally think Houston and Wilkerson both have a shot at sliding past the first round and IF THEY DO only the bills might take one of them as they don't fit the Pats 3-4, and the Bengals will be focused on offense i hope, leaving just the bills ahead that could take one of them leaving either one available, and Wilkerson is a DT/DE and is also better than Bailey IMO.

Still I'd much rather pull a "Bucs" and take 2 DT's in the first 2 rounds with Wilkerson or Austin, or even snag a pair of LB's with Wilson and Sturdivant with both 2nd rounders, but if they did 2 LB's it would almost certainly show they are thinking of putting Dumm, Haggan or Ayers on the line, maybe even 2 of the 3, and i don't want that. If they did go DE with one of their second rounders then that would show they might be putting dumm back in his OLB position, just don't get Bailey, especially if Justin Houston or Wilkerson is still available and both are a bit better than Bailey IMO.
  12. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

    Here's a TE for you

  13. FreeBird Selbstmord ist Schmerzfre

yeah i like Kendricks, but Stocker was a BEAST in 2009 from what i remember watching, and his real main issue this year was Tennessee's Compton sucking balls not giving him good looks, and having a completely different offense to learn thanks to junior McDoushnuts. When Compton could get into a rhythm Stocker's real talent shown through. He was the 3rd best TE raiting wise had he come out last year. And was projected 2-3 right up there with Graham from Miami, and that kid from Arizona, ol whats his name.

either one i'd be happy seeing. get another Tony Scheffler, good at receiving, ok at blocking...
  14. B00STED4V Caution: Pees Everywhere When Drunk

Yeah except Stocker can't block, at all. Gantt can block, but isn't a huge pass catcher or deep seam TE. D.J. Williams is good at both as well and he should be there in the 3rd or even 4th.

multiple rumors (take those for what they're worth) from multiple sources that Denvers openly taking trade offers from Niners, Titans, Redskins, and Jags to trade back.

I'd love Dareus, but if the price is right and we can get Fairley or Mook and stock up some picks I'll take that as well :nice:

Denver is considering picking von miller at #2 according to nfl network. Only a few more hours!
